Limited to 225 copies. Captain G.A. Graham was a noted breeder of Scottish Deerhounds of the second half of the nineteenth century. "He is virtually the editor of the Pedigrees of Deerhounds for the Kennel Club Stud Book.". "This present volume takes in as wide a stretch as we were possibly able to go. it does not certainly include every animal .from the date of the first pedigree mentioned down to the present day, still I think there are sufficient to show the most reliable blood to breed from, and whence that blood came. This volume shows that we can go back for nearly a century [to about 1800]; and we are not aware of any other breed of dogs that can display a genealogical tree of such value." Captain Graham is famous as the man who rescued the Irish Wolfhound from oblivion, into which breed he introduced Scottish Deerhound blood. Graham's Wolfhound project was the origin of his interest in Deerhounds and his Deerhound breeding program which he pursued for thirty years.
